Here’s what you’ll need to follow our a moka pot brew guide:
Follow these simple steps and enjoy!
Some cracking coffee
Measure and grind
Using a medium fine grind, grind enough coffee to fill the filter basket evenly. It’s important that you don’t pack the grounds down!
Some cracking coffee
Next, fill the bottom water chamber just below the pressure valve.
Use boiling water to fill the chamber. This reduces the amount you need to heat the brewer and prevents the coffee burning.
Assemble the Moka Pot
Fill the basket with all your cracking aromatic ground coffee and place into the lower chamber. Be sure to firmly screw the top on.
Use a tea towel when you screw the top on – it will prevent burning yourself!
Now, place the moka pot on a medium-high heat source and let it rest . It’s best to leave the lid up so that you can see what’s happening.
Control the temperature
When you start to notice the coffee beginning to make its way to the upper chamber, turn the heat down. We suggest turning it down to around 50% of the original temperature.
Remove from heat
When the coffee begins to gurgle out of the spout, carefully remove the pot from the heat. This should happen after approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Close the lid and allow the coffee to continue brewing for a further 30 seconds.
Pour, relax and enjoy your cracking moka pot coffee!
